Terms of Service

By using this website or placing an order, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. Cate Joyce is a sole proprietorship owned by Caitlin Joyce, based in Connecticut.

1. Products

We sell art prints and original artwork. We try to show colors and details accurately, but screens differ, and handmade work varies slightly. Prints and originals are described by size, medium, and materials on each product page. Original artwork is one of a kind and may sell before your order is confirmed. If that happens, we will refund you in full.

2. Orders and payment

Placing an order is an offer to buy. We accept it when we send a shipping confirmation, and we may decline or cancel any order, for example because of a pricing error or suspected fraud. Payment is processed securely by a third-party payment provider. We do not see or store your full card details. Prices are in US dollars and may change without notice, but a change does not affect orders already confirmed.

3. Sales tax

We collect and remit sales tax where required by law. Any tax due appears at checkout.

4. Shipping

Processing and delivery times are estimates, not guarantees. Made-to-order prints may take [number] business days to produce before shipping. Risk of loss passes to you when the carrier delivers the package to the address you provided. Please enter your address carefully, because we are not responsible for orders delivered to an incorrect address you gave us.

5. Returns

All sales are final, subject to the exceptions in our Return Policy above, which is part of these terms.

6. Copyright and permitted use

All artwork, images, text, and designs on this site are the property of Caitlin Joyce and are protected by copyright. Buying a print or original gives you ownership of that physical item only. It does not transfer copyright or any reproduction rights. You may display the work and share photos of it with credit. You may not copy, reproduce, sell, license, print, or use the artwork or site images for commercial purposes, including on merchandise or in AI training, without our written permission.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the site, attempt to interfere with its operation, scrape it in bulk, or use it for anything unlawful.

8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The site and products are provided "as is" to the fullest extent the law allows. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cate Joyce is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or products. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the order at issue. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Connecticut, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms and our Return Policy from time to time. The version posted on the site when you place your order applies to that order.
